“Don’t worry. We’ll fix this,” Mom said.

Astrid frowned. “It was Eliana. She put glue on my headband!”

Apollo came into the living room. “And she poured milk in my shoes!”

“I’m so mad at her!” said Astrid.

“Me too!” said Apollo.

“Calm down, everyone,” Dad said. “Apollo, maybe we can put your shoes in the dryer. Astrid, can we wash the glue out of your hair?”

“We need to be at the school soon,” Mom reminded them.

“My shoes will still smell like rotten milk!” Apollo whined.

“And my hair will still be sticky!” Astrid moaned.

“Okay, we’ll have to think of something else, fast,” said Dad.

Mom went to the closet and came back with a hat and a different pair of shoes.

“There’s no more time! This will have to do. Kids, get in the car,” she said.

“Aren’t you forgetting someone?” Dad asked.

“I’ll get Eliana,” Mom said.
